Meet at Redland Green Farm, BS6 7HF (next to the Play Area). If possible, bring garden gloves and stout footwear or wellingtons. Refreshments will be provided.
This annual event always makes a considerable difference to the Green, especially in the Dell area. The rubbish collected is sorted by members of the group for recycling or landfill, and is later collected by May Gurney.
The next meeting of the Community Group will take place at Redland Green Bowling Club on Thursday 14 March from 8pm. All are welcome to attend.
The group is currently involved with consulting with the local community to determine the best use of the £110,000 award from the Parks Capital Stimulus Fund. Come and make your voice heard!
The following priorities were identified in consultation with the local community, and from feedback from school students with regard to the seating area for teenagers:
Work to the childrens’ playground to replace failing and failed equipment
Seating area for older children (and other members of the public)
Repair of paths and road to the farmhouse / allotments
Meadow area for wildlife
Wildlife information boards
Funding is sufficient for all of these projects to go ahead.
Some of the members of the Group who, not daunted by intermittent rain and freezing fingers, planted crocus and daffodil bulbs ready for next spring.
