Pomeroy alias Mortymyre

This is an example of only one or two  records testifying to a person's existence.

We are left wondering about the relationship of Henry Pomeroy alias Mortymyre and Tristram Pomeroy alias Mortymyre as well as Thomas Mortimer...all circa 1556-1558, to the armorial Pomeroy family. The fact that the property in both Wyll (Lower Well, Stoke Gabriel) and Eggesford remained with the Pomeroy's into the 18th century suggests they were grandchildren of the house of de la Pomeray.

Eggesford Church.

 Pomerye alias Mortymyre:

The first record below is noteworthy because of the specific property involved: Wyll and Eggesford, which appear in the records of the noble family from the time  Sir Thomas Pomeroy sold Berry Pomeroy on down to Roger Pomeroy, whose daughter brought what remained to the Pomeroy's to the Gilberts.

The 2nd records associates the Mortimer name with Sir Thomas Pomeroy regarding property in Chudleigh.
