Occasionally an interesting puzzle involving more current Pomeroy's catches my attention; in this case it was "James Daniel Pomeroy and Rebecca..." What I found after painstakingly working through the UK Census records, BMD records, Family Search...was enough to lead back an additional generation to Beaminster, Dorset, and forward to Birmingham.Later in the evening, while searching an entirely different Pomeroy family, there not only appears on my screen a wonderful web page created by a researcher in Somerset, but the entire Daniel and Rebecca" story, complete with sources. While I thought it curious that none of my "google" search combinations had picked it up, I did feel satisfaction in knowing that the rest of the "system" was functioning, even though I had to re-invent the wheel to get there.
