Description

For this module, we were required to complete our group assignment using the IBM SPSS Modeler software. Since this was the first time we were using the IBM SPSS Modeler software, we experienced a lot of issues in completing our group assignment as we were not used to the software and the functions. Moreover, as the questions for the group assignments were interlinked, this meant that a mistake in the previous portions would result in the following sections being wrong.

The Analysis

Through this group assignment, I learnt that it was important to clarify our doubts immediately when it arises. One mistake we made was not clarifying our doubts when it arose at the first few parts. This resulted in the following parts being affected, and wrongly attempted upon. When we consulted other students, we noticed that our methodology for the first few parts differ from theirs. Only then did we noticed that it was wrongly attempted. Because of that, much time was wasted in redoing the first few parts and the next few parts.

Also, when we realised that we had done the first few parts incorrectly, some of us panicked as we were nearing the deadline. I learnt that it was important to remain calm, especially under time constraint. Being able to think objectively allowed us to complete the group assignment efficiently. Eventually, we managed to finish and submit the group assignment before the deadline.

Synthesis

The learning points mentioned above would be useful when completing other group assignments and assignments in the future.
