Description

From the group assignment of this module, we learnt the different usage of accounting information by stakeholders in an organisation. The main focus of this module would be the usage of management accounting techniques and tools to produce information in order to influence and facilitate managerial decisions.

The Analysis

Through this course, I have gained a better understanding of the different cost classifications, cost behavior and costing systems. Thus, resulting in me being able to calculate the cost of a good or service using various methodologies. Cost is an important factor in businesses as accurate costing information and methodologies would impact various managerial decisions.

Synthesis

This course allowed me to gain a better understanding of the application of accounting in business settings. Most students, including me had the image that accounting only consist of financial reporting. However, after studying this module, I learnt that this was not the case. Thus, this course was very interesting and an eye opener.
