Borton's Development Framework
Description
For this module, since I joined the part-time students, the seminars were held at night. Hence, there was not a lot of full timers and this meant that it would be more difficult for me to find a group for the group assignment component. We had to form our own groups and email our professor our group members once it was finalised.
The Analysis
As I was not a very out-spoken person this meant that I had to step out of my comfort zone and interact with others for my group assignment. After the 1st seminar ended, I approached various students to ask if I was able to be a part of their group for the group assignment. However, most of them already had their own groups. Following that, I approached the professor and mentioned to him that i do not have the group, hence the people without a group would form a group together eventually.
What did I do/ and what I will do if it happens again
From this experience, I understand that it is important to be proactive and to take charge of one's actions. For this case, I took charge of my learning and my grades and approach others for my group assignment. It is also important to not be afraid of stepping out of one's comfort zone when necessary.
