Description (What?)
This module was one of the compulsory non-accounting related module that all students had to take. Most of my peers had little or no fundamentals in statistics and hence experienced difficulty in understanding the mathematical concepts thought in seminars. However, as I had studied Mathematics in Junior College, I was able to follow the seminars more easily than my peers.
Theory & knowledge building (So what?)
For our group assignment, we had to apply various mathematical concepts taught in seminars. Hence, for our group assignment, there were many instances where I had to explain the concepts to my group member. By explaining to her, this allowed her to gain a better understanding of the mathematical concepts, hence allowing her to participate and contribute during group discussions.
Action-oriented level of reflection (What next?)
I learnt a lot from teaching my peers, such as patience. Through teaching, it also allowed me to understand the mathematical concepts in depth. I also learnt that it was important to share our knowledge with our peers to ensure that our group assignment would be more coherent and of a higher quality.
