David Kolb - Experiential Learning
Description
This module was the first law related module i took in University. Due to the nature of the subject being very content heavy, it was difficult to remember all the different case studies for exam purposes. This lead to various case studies being forgotten and excluded unintentionally during exam preparation.
Why did it happen
As mentioned above, the numerous amount of case studies available resulted in certain case studies being unintentionally excluded when preparing for the exam. This resulted in my exam result for this module being not as ideal. Despite the exam being an open-book one, where we can bring in our textbooks and notes, I was unable to reference the most suitable case study for the exam questions.
What did I do/ and what I will do if it happens again
Through this experience, I understand the importance of understanding the textbook. The textbook contained various examples and case studies which would have allowed me to aced the exams if applied correctly. Despite the exam being an open-book one, it was still important to have a good understanding of the textbook. When studying for open-book exams in the future, it would be useful to use post-its to identify the pages that are important. This would reduce the time spent in flipping the book during exam.
