David Kolb - Experiential Learning
Description
For the group assignment for this module, I worked with a group of students whom i have not worked with before. It was difficult for me to get used to their working style as it was vastly different from the working style I was used to.
Why did it happen
For this particular group, I was the only member who had not worked with them before, however, the remaining 3 members had worked with each other before. Hence, I had to adapt to their working style. The other groups that I had worked with before would split the work and would only meet up to either resolve issues or to finalise the assignment. However, for this group, they would normally meet up to work on the same question together.
What did I do/ and what I will do if it happens again
There were various instances in which I remained passive despite feeling that it is not the most effective and efficient method to complete the group assignment. For instance, as we had our group discussions in school, this meant that a lot of time was spent on travelling. I could had been more vocal and voiced my opinions regarding this issue. It would have been more effective and efficient in completing the group assignment. This was a huge learning point for me as we have various group assignments, and there is a possibility of having to work with someone you had never worked with before.
