Wow finally finished! What a process this has been to get to the end. Truthfully I thought a few weeks ago I was going to just throw in the towel and give up on finishing. I'm glad I pushed through and finished as I have learned a good deal along the way and made some good new friends along the way. My PLN has grown and I have a great new community to reach out to when I need help or resources.
I would not say I have done my best quality work all the way through this course, I'm sure at some point I will look back on it and do some updating on my website. As I want this to be a resource for myself in the future. It is kind of hard to do your best work when you are working at times flat on your back in bed. To those that have given me the extra time I needed or the help to get through some of the material I say THANK YOU - YOU ROCK!
When I first started this process for the Leading Edge I thought I only knew a little bit about Blended and Online Instruction. However the farther I got into the course the more I realized I knew more than I first thought.
The biggest eye opener was the 508 compliance section. Made me really appreciate those that have taken the time make a site and course fully compliant as a model. This is something I need to work on and fix with my current school site. The importance of community has also once again been brought home to me. How to more effectively create an environment so students work together in a community is one of my new goals.
Electives: Yeah well haven't started these at all yet. So guess what other than a trip to Florida my big summer project will be? Did you guess?!? You got it taking some electives. I want to get started with the first one before heading to Florida and then the other two after I return.
Project: I still need to move a lot of the material from my District closed Edmodo group to the web site I'm building. But I have not spent much time on it as I have been scuffling to get caught up with the Leading Edge course first.
My G+ activity has been centered on Chromebooks recently mainly because my District has all of a sudden taken a turn to looking at Chromebooks. Therefore I have been some reading up on Chromebooks so any good material I find I have been sharing. In fact I found a very interesting article this past week about iPads as Chromebooks that I plan on bringing up at our next District Tech meeting since we have already spent so much money and time this year with iPads for teachers.
