The Tech Chicks are back for this session.
One of the site they shared that I have used before but it is worth mentioning again is Appo Learning. This is a site that I often share with others for find not only apps but web sites as well.
Ed Shelf is another site they gave us, this one was new to me and I did enjoy spending a little time during the session exploring this site. It is one I have bookmarked to spend more time on this summer to see if it is something that will become part of my larger pallet of tech resources.
The advise about contacting developers for free samples of apps for trailers is so true. I have been able to get several apps this way and also been able to beta an app recently before it was released that my students LOVE! It was also very wise advise about checking to see if an paid app has volume price and if so then often it makes more sense to buy 20 copies than 11 because the cost is less. You always need to check for volume pricing before purchasing any apps.
It was good to hear about deployment of apps but I have heard from the tech department that Apple is changing how that will work and when I get back from the RA in Florida they will show me the new system. I was at the middle school today where they were prepping for the new fiber lines. Mike said the new management is going to be much better and he is very happy for the change.
Love the students and teachers creating classroom contract together. This is something I currently do with students for classroom rules.
Because my District is starting a three year plan to go 1:1 next year and Chromebooks will be a big part of the plan one of my favorite resources they shared in this session was the Chromebook Classroom Web Site. I've have spent several days going through some of the material on this site and this is one page I will be returning to over and over again for a while. I'm still getting used to working with Chromebooks and all the ins and outs of them.
