First of I have to say my favorite thing about the IEC course so far has been making great new professional connections. I have meet both current and former IEC co-hort members at conferences. The connections I have gained through the IEC program to help my own profession growth which will in turn help my students is worth every penny invested into the program.
I just finished the web 2.0 tools collaboration presentation in the leading edge course. I loved this as I learned about several Web 2.0 tools I had never heard of before that I look forward to trying out with students in the future. It is also great to have colleagues push you to excellence with your own tools. To take a critical look at why you are using a tool and are you using it to it's full potential.
As for my project while I have been working with teachers for iPads. We currently have one iPad in each classroom for teachers. I have started a closed Edmodo group for teachers with resources and have been hosting "Appy Hours" for teachers to meet and talk help/needs with their iPads in the classroom. These resources can be transferred to an open blog or web site such as possibly this site for anyone to view.
I have not started any electives at this time and don't plan on starting until summer due to a very full schedule at the current time.
I love our synchronous sessions and miss the fact that we have not had many of them during the LEC unit. While it is hard at times to schedule them for me I look forward to getting back to them with the next unit.
