This session was with Julene Reed on the pedagogy of mobile devices. I found this to be a good time to review the subject. As Julene said from the beginning of her session pedagogy is not always the most interesting thing to talk about but it is very important.
I love this quote by Dewey that Julene shared about a mobile society.
The changing learning space is something we have talked about before that was brought back up again for consideration. Also highlighted was how Julene does not always teach the tool but gives clear directions on what is expected and students/learners in groups work through learning how to use the tool(s) to solve the problem.
JISC InfoNet Website on Mobile Learning - This web site was shared by Julene during the session and has some further resources on Mobile Learning. I bookmarked it during the session and I've gone back to review it a couple times. This site is based out of the UK.
Before this session I had seen a number of different videos on SAMR but never the student created one that Julene presented, I LOVE this one and have saved it in my YouTube channel for use at a later time with teachers in my District.
Start with the goal in mind and then work backwards was great advice. Then think about what the process will be to achieve the goal.
Here is the Google Sheet to the Homework from the session. Thanks to my music boosters I will be able to do more in the future with music writing with students. We can expand to group work with mixed instrumentation because they have purchased a premium account for students. This allows for shared editing rights and transposing from one instrument to another.
