Well lets see this was due a month ago so my first reflection is why so late. December was filed with holiday concerts and life became a struggle to keep up with the IEC program. But because of future goals and what I feel I can get out of this program for my students I struggled on. Just before school broke for Winter break came a crush personal and profession blow. One of those life moments when you have to search deep and ask why are you doing what your doing and is it all worth it. A three day trip out of town to get away and think helped me find that clarity I was looking for when fate would have me run into a former student from years ago when teaching in another state. I caught up on all work I was behind on and started January back on track to only see the passing of good friend two weeks later. It has put me in a rut I've struggled to get out of and only had the energy to devote fully to my classroom until the last week or so.
The Synchronous sessions have been a bit frustrating recently with blackboard not working correctly. I love John Miller and I personally have been playing Mindcraft for a couple years and was really sorry I was not able to get in on that session due to technical difficulties that night. I do understand that with technology there will be issues and that is just part of the deal. Most of the presenter have been very good and it is helpful to have the recording to go back and review. I've also been in contact with a few of the presenters after sessions about following up for further details of subjects they presented. By far my favorite so far has been Lucie deLaBruere.
I follow Edutopia on twitter and facebook so usually the same Mary is post in our Google+ community new articles from them they are poping up on those feeds as well. I've been posting in our G+ community is sporadically. Seems like it tends to be either feast or famine over there for me. In the last week or so I have been better about posting. I do read the feed almost everyday it is just posting more that I need to get in the habit with so I relate better with the rest of the cohort. I'm looking forward to meeting those that will be attending the annual CUE conference in Palm Springs.
Speaking of CUE, I'm attending the CUE Rockstar this weekend in Pateluma. I should be home getting caught up on work that I'm behind on but with coming through this rough period I needed to get out and be around others in an environment wanting learn more about be a better educator for students.
As for electives those will have to wait for a while yet and maybe until summer. I can not add anything else to what I'm currently doing at the moment and possibly keep up. Since it is almost 3:30 am I'm going to add a few screen caps to show I have been on G+ and call it a night 8:00 will be here before I know it....
