I'm Somebody Award is given by the captains and coaches for an outstanding "Redhawk-like" performance at the previous varsity dual or tournament.
11/30/2014: Jason Heatherly - Jason scored a 2 point nearfall in just 11 seconds to send his match against Bonds from DGS into overtime and then scored a takedown to win a big match. He finished 2-1 on his opening effort on varsity. Great Job Jason!
12/5/2014: Jake Keating - Jake scored three takedowns against top-ranked Gomez of Glenbard North before falling by pin late in the third period. Jake scored nearfall points as well. Way to go Jake!
12/6/2014: Ben Williamson - Ben won all three matches at the Mega Duals to stay undefeated. Ben's first victory broke the record for the most career wins in Naperville Central wrestling history. Congratulations Ben!
12/12/2014: Alex Hunter - Alex scored a takedown to break a 2-2 tie late in the third period to help the Redhawks defeat their cross-town rivals Naperville North. Excellent job Alex
12/13/2014: Cam Hayes - Cam, unseeded at the Hoffman Estates Tournament scored a technical fall, a pin, and a 3-1 win in the finals to win the tournament. Fantastic Cam!!
12/20/2014: Ben Williamson - Ben won all four matches at the Whitlatch Tournament at Hinsdale Central to take home the championship at 138 pounds. Ben's was seated sixth in the 24 team tournament. Wow Ben!
12/30/2014: Derek Wilke - Derek won all three of his matches at home, two by fall and a 6-1 victory against AA ranked Warner of Geneseo. Excellent Job Derek!
1/2/2015: Laddie Skarecky - Laddie took two of three matches in our quad at home including a pin and a come-from-behind decision. Way to go Laddie!
1/3/2015: Riley Guttosch - Riley won all three matches at Libertyville helping the Redhawks win all three duals. In two wins he scored nine points in the final period of his matches. Great Riley!
1/9/2015: Alex Hunter - Alex locked down the key pin to help the Redhawks defeat DVC for Wheaton North. Awesome job Alex!
1/10/2015: Christian Nussbaum - Christian won all three matches at Downers Grove North helping the Redhawks win all three duals. He scored two first period falls and won a hard fought 3-2 decision against DGN. Way to go Christian!
1/15/2015: Cam Baumgartner - Cam, senior, entered the varsity line-up at 106 pounds and gutted out a tough 2-1 win against DVC opponent Lake Park at home on Senior Night. Excellent Cam!
1/17/2015: Jake Keating - Jake won three matches to take the gold at 106 pounds at the Marty Williams Invitational at Mahomet-Seymour High School. Magnificent Jake!
1/23/2015: Cam Hayes - Cam repeats as I'm Somebody by gaining a last second takedown against Flores of Wheaton Warrenville South to win 7-6. The victory helped the Redhawks finish 4-1 in the DVC in duals. Exciting Finish Cam!
1/31/2015: Ben Williamson - Ben Williamson avenged two losses from earlier in the season to become DVC Champion at 138 pounds. Awesome Ben!
2/7/2015: Riley Guttosch - Riley battled back from injury and defeat to take third place at the IHSA Regional Tournament at Batavia High School. The senior was one of five to qualify. Riley's efforts helped the team to take second place. Fantastic Riley!
2/14/2015: Tom Hamill - Tom help film every varsity match throughout the wrestling season, including the Regionals and Sections. With Tom's help, wrestlers are able to review their skills and prepare for upcoming matches. Thanks Tom!
2/21/2015: Ben Williamson - Ben finishes the state tournament 2-2, in the final 8 at state. He finishes his career at a three time state qualifier and 137 high school career wins, the most in school history. Great Career Ben!
