Film, Edit and Continue
While I am gone, if you need to film then you will need to 'check out' cameras via the sub. They are at the front of the room, and need to be put BACK AT THE FRONT OF THE ROOM when you're done.
for those who need to film: There is only one camera out, so be quick and efficient. Remember to record external audio with a laptop/microphone. Thank the thieves who stole the other ones and made me lock up all but one.
for those who have already filmed: Your videos are on one of the 3 USB's at the front of the class on the table. There is a sheet with directions as to whose is on what USB. Be sure to copy the videos into the 'video production source files' folder (with sub folders named after you and the 'news package project,' of course) on the C drive of a computer with premiere. Get to editing!
if you cannot film and have not yet filmed, find a partner you haven't worked with and start preparing another news package. Or, get your 1st (late deadline is friday!) or 2nd current event done! you ALL Have work to do!
get with someone and come up with more ideas!

Mop it Up
While I'm gone today, simply stay productive. Do one of the following:
April 22, 2014
Newscast Terminology
Look up the following terms utilized in the broadcast world, defining them in a Word or other document. Be sure to name the document 'broadcast definitions (your name),' as well as put your name inside of the word document. I will retrieve them through the finished work USB when you are done.

Developing a News Package
While in Mrs. Pearson's room, you will work either solo or in pairs (not 3's) to develop a potentially REAL AND FILMABLE news package regarding events or goings-on at Bushland. This could be a specific happening, or it could be an idea for a recurring event/series on campus. The package itself should be two minutes or less, include interviews and/or a host, as well as voiceover/narration. To complete this, you must have the following:

Teacher Spotlight Videos (cont'd)
Apparently 5 minutes of work was too much for some people. It was real easy to figure out who in 3rd period didn't fill in the teacher interview form; you're the first 3 on my roll. Thomas, Cole, and Ryan... get. it. done. 8th period, you still lack 10 people, so you can figure out what half of the class decided to not do anything yesterday. Yes, I understand there were a few absences, but that doesn't account for most of you. Be sure you direct classmates who were absent to this page. Don't forget that you have to have the interview questions at the ready when I get back tomorrow, too. It would be really sad to give 13 people TWO zeroes on some ridiculously easy and fast assignments.

Teacher Spotlight Videos (cont'd)
3rd period - most of you (3 have not) have completed the teacher interview form in the April 10 entry. Be sure you get the Interview questions Word document done before I get back as well. 8th period, be sure that you complete not only the form linked to in the April 10th entry below this, but also the 'Interview Questions' word document in the Files section of this page. I will collect the Interview Questions file when I return. Both are for separate daily grades.
If you are done with both of these, then you need to get on a machine with Premiere and make your own folder in the 'Video Production Source Files' folder on the C drive. Within that folder, make a 'color correction' project folder, then copy/paste one or two of the clips found in someone else's project folders into your color correction project folder. after that, you can either go here http://tv.adobe.com/watch/short-and-suite/basic-use-of-the-3way-color-corrector/ and watch the video if you have headphones of your own (be sure to show the sub this statement that i have OK'ed watching videos for this), but you could also go here and just read a basic idea.

Teacher Spotlight Videos
The link for teacher interview requests is HERE.
If you are not part of the upcoming CTE spotlight projects, you will be involved in a 'teacher spotlight' video. This will involve a short interview with a teacher of your choice, and the following details:

Adobe Premiere - Picture in Picture
As one of your first projects working with the new Adobe software, you will film a short (10-15 second) sequence from essentially two separate angles. You'll have to film the sequence once from one direction, then a second time from a 'second perspective.' After that, you'll split your group of 4 into two groups of 2, and each group will need a copy of your video clips.

Suicide Commercial Project
For the following assignment, you will not be able to rely on audio to get across your message. You will have to work with text and actions. Your video must span AT LEAST THIRTY SECONDS (NO EXCEPTIONS: PLAN, PLAN, PLAN, CHECK, CHECK, CHECK), but no more than thirty-five. To get across your message, you will need to utilize all of the following:
