NOTE: On step 9, when you 'save your texture,' be sure to save it as a JPEG! You may then open the JPEG and copy/paste it over. if you copy/paste it from the PSD file, you will not have much success, as you'll have to copy each

Correcting Photos with Levels

Before proceeding with the tutorial in the following paragraph, go to either this link or this link and read about what a histogram is. When you are done, be sure you understand the following for a quiz tomorrow:

What part of the histogram represents light, medium, and dark pixels
How you can tell an image has too many bright pixels
What panel in photoshop we will use to fix poorly exposed photos
You can't recover photos that were overexposed to the point that things are white and should not be

There is often a sad fact in photography; you're rushed, or sometimes simply unaware, and your camera is set poorly for the given lighting conditions. As a result, your photos end up under- or over-exposed, and they simply look awful. To make matters worse, it's little Timmy's kindergarten graduation, so this isn't some random photo shoot you can go out and repeat. That's where this tutorial comes in. Use a levels adjustment layer to improve the appearance of the three files saved below. Save them as psd files, and be prepared to show me your work tomorrow. There is no 'perfect' result, but you can definitely improve them.
