Welcome to Scratch
Scratch is a fantastic little creation by the people at MIT for introducing people to the world of programming. It can be used for everything from animation to game design. Give it a go, and explore its basic elements. To do so,
1) Create a login:
To do so, you will need access to your email. Let me know if you need help. You must have an email/login to save a project as you go.
2) For the basics, grab some headphones and head to this link:
http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/editor/?tip_bar=getStarted – the blue arrows at the bottom of the steps take you along.
3) Once you finish, head to the home page, then click on the green 'try out starter projects' area and open up a starter project.
- Modify a starter project in some fashion, including at least the following original content uploaded by you:
- a new background
- a new sprite with at least 3 different costumes.
Use Either the Scratch editor/Photoshop/Paint/Illustrator or a camera to create these three 'costumes,' and then the costumes tab to add/upload them).
You will need to use photoshop to resize the photos down to no more than 400 x 400 pixels.
- a new sound (must be a .wav file you created using audacity. Can be spoken words or a beat.
