This series of presentations shows how archaeological discoveries have consistently verified the accuracy of both Old and New Testaments. Accounts that were long criticized by liberal scholars, such as the Philistines and the conquest of Jericho have been verified by recent discoveries. New discoveries that verify Scriptural accuracy continue to pour in every year. These seminars explore some of the archaeological discoveries that are most significant in relation to Biblical history, such as the Tower of Babel, Sodom and Gomorrah, Hezekiah’s water tunnel, and the Dead Sea Scrolls. Some of the latest discoveries include the David Inscription, Herod’s Tomb, and the Pool of Siloam. In one of the talks we explore the claim that Jesus’ family tomb has been discovered.

Archaeology Wars

This presentation attempts to make Bible archaeology culturally relevant by showing how it relates to issues facing our culture today. Atheists and skeptics accuse the God of the Old Testament as being an unjust, unforgiving tyrant. To answer these charges we examine the practices of the Canaanites and surrounding nations, including Sodom and Gomorrah, through archaeological evidence to show why God had to judge them and end their practices.

The presentation covers two areas. These are related in that they both illustrate why God must sometimes issue judgment:

1) Why did God command the Israelites to utterly destroy whole cities? Archaeological discoveries can help shed light on this question.

Science, History, and Scripture: Ancient Evidence Supports Biblical Accuracy

Critics have charged that the Bible is “unscientific,” mythical, or inaccurate at best; Bible-believing Christians have been accused of being ignorant “flat-earthers.” Is the Bible consistent with modern science? Or have scientific discoveries relegated the Bible to the status of myths and fairy tales? Although it isn’t a scientific textbook, the accuracy of Scripture has been verified time and again by archaeology, history, and scientific discoveries.

This presentation shows how the Bible actually anticipated and provided the basis for scientific discoveries. Certain scientific principles were in the Bible all along waiting for science to cast aside its misconceptions and come into line with Creation. Many pitfalls and blind alleys could’ve been avoided by paying closer attention to what the Creator said in His Word.

The Rise of Darwinism and Its Impact on Society

Why was Darwin’s Origin of Species accepted so enthusiastically by theologians, scientists, and philosophers? How has science come to be dominated by materialism and naturalism? Charles Darwin has been lionized as the father of evolutionism, but deist and atheist philosophers had been setting the stage for rejecting God as Creator for many years before his book appeared. The ideas of Darwin and his predecessors continue to affect our thinking today, with huge consequences for our society.

This presentation traces some of the ideas leading to Darwin’s evolutionary thought and beyond, and how they’ve affected our culture.

Science and Humanism: The Consequences of Bad Ideas

Evolutionists charge that creationism has hindered science, and that “no real scientist believes in creation.” Yet history shows just the opposite: Many of the greatest scientific discoveries have been by scientists who believed in God as Creator. On the other hand, science based upon evolutionary assumptions has resulted in much wasted research money, and ideas that are now in total disrepute. Additionally, evolutionary thinking leaves a trail of hopelessness and despair, and ideas that have been devastating to humanity, even resulting in the deaths of millions of people.

Endeavoring to “think God’s thoughts after Him,” as did astronomer Johann Kepler, not only results in more reliable scientific methods and results, but provides us with a positive outlook on life and hope for the future.

In this presentation I show some of the consequences of ideas based upon evolutionary assumptions, and contrast them with the great advances in science made by Bible-believing scientists.

The Quest for Evolution: Evolution is not a New Idea

Most people assume that the concept of evolution began with Charles Darwin. But Darwin merely popularized and provided a supposedly scientific explanation for evolution. In so doing, he provided an excuse for people to not have to answer to their Creator, a quest that’s been in the mind of man since the Tower of Babel. A thread of evolutionary thought may be traced back to the earliest recorded civilizations.

In this presentation we trace evolutionism back to its early beginnings and show how it influenced Greek philosophy, which in turn affected Western culture from the Renaissance down to the present, and became deeply rooted in our culture today.
