Ender's Week 3: Battle School - The Launchies

Welcome to Week 3! This week we progress through the middle third of Ender's Game. At this time Ender has been removed from his family, becomes a Launchie, and begins to learn the ins and outs of the battle school and its social hierarchy. Graff ratchets up his social experiment that is Ender and hits a few snags. 

Week 3 - Battle School - The Launchies 

This week we review chapters 4 through 9 of the book. Our discussions will focus on 

• Military training of young children (ages 6 or less)

• Institutionalization of the child and use of isolation (so the army becomes Ender's family)

• Use of childrend for very unchild-like purposes

• What does this mean in Education? 

• The use of games as curriculum / extracurricular studies 

• What learning styles are showcased

• Basic Cyber Security measures illustrated
