In the name of God Amen, the 18th day of April in the year of our lord God 1573 and in the 15th year of the reign of our sovereign lady Elizabeth, by the grace of God queen of England, France and Ireland, defender of the faith, I George Meade of Moberley within the county of Chester, husbandman, being in perfect health and sound remembrance, praise be given to almighty God, do make & devise this my last will & testament in manner & form following. First & principally I do give & bequeath my soul unto almighty God my maker & redeemer & my body to be buried in the church or churchyard of Moberley. Item I do give & bequeath unto Margaret Worthy daughter unto Henry Worthy of Moberley £10 of lawful money of England to be paid unto her the said Margaret immediately after my death by my executors. Item it is my will, mind & intent that after my burial discharged and my debts paid, all the rest of my goods to be equally divided betwixt my loving wife & Henry Mayne my bastard son, and I do ordain & make my trusted friend Henry Worthy of Moberley, husbandman, & Henry Mayne my bastard son my true & lawful executors of this my last will & testament & in witness hereof I have hereunto put my hand & seal the day & year above written. Witnesses hereof William Burge senior, Edmond Worthy, William Burge junior, George Burge, with others.
