28 acres of land, 3 shillings of rent and a moiety of 1 messuage and of 1 toft in Pychelesthorn' and Masseworth'.

Action: Plea of covenant.

Agreement: John and Christian have acknowledged the tenements to be the right of Adam le Gardiner, as those which the same Adam and Adam Cok' have of their gift, to hold to Adam and Adam and the heirs of Adam le Gardiner, of the chief lords for ever. Warranty by John and Christian for themselves and the heirs of Christian. For this: Adam and Adam have given them 20 marks of silver.

Richard atte Mede comes to this court and does fealty and acknowledges that he holds of the lord one messuage with one half virgate of land with appurtenances in Lee called Laurencis and pays for it per annum 6 s 8 d, and also acknowledges that he holds of the lord one toft with half s virgate of land in Lee called Frerys with appurtenances, and pays for it per annum 13 s 4 d. Item he acknowledges that he holds of the lord one close called Bronyshechyng, and pays for it per annum 6 s 8 d. Item he holds of the lord one piece of land called Halacrys with appurtenances and pays for it per annum 11 s v d. Item he holds 2 acres of land adjacent at Hasele with 1 rod of land at Somerlese of Saunderton without rent.

East Claydon Court Roll, 1479

William Mede came to this court and acknowledged that he holds of the aforesaid Guy (Westcote) by the custom of the manor one cottage with an adjacent close once in the tenure of Roger Geffes and one quarter of land adjacent, for annual rent of 6 s 4, and he holds a well on the western side once part of a close called Cokkyscroft, and pays for the said well 4 d per annum. Item he holds a third part of a close and pays for it 15 d per annum.

William Meades was imprisoned by Mr Baylye, Sir Edward Richardson & Mr. Arthur Claver for bringeinge a Message from the High Sheriffe to Thomas Russell, James Cowelye & Edward Robins whoe told them if they had not payd in their money, that they woulde come & speake with the Sheriffe before they did. This William Meades sayes And this Thomas Russill upon his oath to the Justices did confesse that William Meades did deliver the same Message to hime and noe more.

Henry Meade he rents 2 yarde lands & a halfe for which he is Assesste jj s that he complaynes of beinge a verrye poor man greatlye in debte haveinge no stocke but 4 poore Horses & 3 Beasts for which 2 of them he owes for upon his complaynte he hade Teares in his eyes beinge an olde man of 60 yeares of Age he did keepe himselfe in his House 7 years for debt. The Assessement to be newe ordered for the poore men in the towne.
