1281 Commission of oyer and terminer on complaint by Alan Attemede and Juliana his wife that John le Baker of Romenale assaulted her at Romenale, Kent.

1282 Thomas atte Mede, imprisoned at Maydenstan (Maidstone), Kent, for the death of William son of Alexander atte Mede, wherewith he is charged, has letters to the sheriff of Kent to bail him.

1284 Eswalt Manor, also known as St. Alban's Court, Nonington, Kent. From Archbishop Pecham's survey of 1283-85: Hamo at Mede holds 75 acres for which he provides 1 boon-worker and 2 carts and performs as much as pertains to ½ Shireman with customs of ploughing and reaping. He also holds 3 acres 3 roods of inland for which he owes no

service. The manor of Estwala / Eswalt had been granted to St Alban's Abbey during

the reign of King Stephen, before the death of Queen Matilda, so 1135 - 1152.

1324 Commission of oyer and terminer to Geoffrey de Hertilpol and others that John atte Mede and others entered a ship laden with 35 sacks of wool between the Island of Shepeye (Isle of Sheppey) and Greston, Kent, on the voyage to Sandwich, and carried away the said wool.

1402 Sussex Feet of Fines. Nedderfelde & Brychlingge. William Mede made an assault on Robert Deghere, bailiff, and John Melleward, the lord's reeve, and was fined 3s.

1405 Sussex Feet of Fines, Nedderfelde. William Mede complains of John Gates on a plea of trespass, saying he was unjustly deprived of 10 cops of oats that were his, to his damage of ½ mark.

Robert and Julian have acknowledged the tenements to be the right of Hamon, as those which Hamon and John have of their gift, and have remised and quitclaimed them from themselves and the heirs of Julian to John and Hamon and the heirs of Hamon for ever.
