Paternoster, Thos. Cowper, Mat. Venton, Jn. Impey, Thos. Prior, Brian Cowper, Clem. East, Jn. East, Jn. Cumberland, Jn. Cranfield jr., Wm. Prior, Jn. Hanscombe, Thos. Howson jr., Thos. Coleman jr., Walter Mead, Jn. Cole, Jer. Pearce, Wm. Savage, Wm. Blith; who say that lands anciently given for charitable uses, namely to maintain a minister or curate in Over Gravenhurst, and for the repair of the steeple and bridges, and for similar uses, were until 20 Eliz. so employed; they are valued at 40 marks p.a.; of this 3 has been devoted to such uses, but the rest has been taken by Hen., Earl of Kent, and misemployed by him.
