Nicholas Kellogg's Will, May 1558

In the name of God, Amen, the 9th day of May in the fourth and fifth year of the reign of our sovereign lord and lady Philip and Mary by the grace of God King and Queen of England, Anno Domino 1558, I Nicholas Kellog of Debden in the county of Essex, being in good and perfect mind and remembrance, laud and praise be to almighty God, make and order this my last will and testament in manner and form following.

First I commend my soul to almighty God my savior and redeemer and my body to be buried at the discretion of my executor wheresoever it shall fortune me to depart out of this transitory world.

My goods I will them as followeth. First I will and bequeath to Florence my wife all my goods and chattels both moveable and unmoveable, whatsoever they be, and her heirs forever, the foresaid Florence to distribute thereof to my children after her decease as she shall think good, whom also I do order and make to be mine executrix.

In witness whereof I the so said Nicholas have subscribed this my last will and sealed the same above. These be witnesses Philip Birde and Thomas Kellog with others more.
