Commodore Perry Anderson and Margaret Anderson held yet a third party at their home following our March 29th Board meeting. We also had our Prep Signal covered dish dinner at the LMCC on April 25th. This may be the year in which we have had so much early social activity and it has been great! Our Board has also been working hard and great things are planned for 2009.

On April 18th and we had our first, of two cleanup days. Remember, a third is scheduled for May 16th so try to be there, especially if you couldn’t make either of the first two. Just let John Incantalupo know if you will be present and he will be happy to give you an assignment. Remember, many hands makes work light.

Snipe Fleet Captain Constance Gill is trying something new—Snipe Sunset Sailing on the 2nd & 4th Wednesdays of the month from 13 May - 23 September 2009. Races will start at 6:30 PM and are open to all LMCC members (adults and children over 12) who would like to get involved in sailing, learn to crew or already enjoy sailing and are looking for an opportunity to participate in fun races.

The Snipe is a 15 foot- 9 inch, 2 person, one-design racing dinghy with a rich history. The Snipe Class has some of the best competition in the world and also emphasizes socializing. The essence of the class is summed up by its motto: Serious Sailing, Serious Fun®. Contact Constance Gill at snipefleet10@gmail.com or 973-980-8831 for further details.

Remember that Chuck Chute and Jan Oldridge are trying to grow our membership and they need your input. If you have some thoughts as to what would make our club more enjoyable, give any Board member a call and share your ideas. The LMYC is your club and we want to meet your needs and exceed your expectations!

Racing begins on May 17th and the Gabor Cup Regatta takes place on, May 24th with registration starting at 12:00 noon and the first gun at 1:00 p.m. This event is open to all LMCC members with a sailboat of any kind and trophies for the first three positions will be awarded.
