Sailing Season is Here! On Saturday, April 20, 2002 we had our annual Clean Up followed by our first social event, the Prep Signal, a pot luck dinner held at the Lake Mohawk Country Club. Our facilities are ready and our skippers and crews have reunited for our 2002 events.

Racing will commence on Sunday, May 5th and will continue through Sunday, October 13th. The season will be divided into two series, Spring and Fall. There will be two races on each day starting at 1:00 P.M.. A list of race officials will be posted at the club and on our web site. Race officials are asked to call Don Okner, Race Committee chairman if any changes in assignments are needed.

Our first Regattas, open to all LMCC members with a sailboat of any kind. will be the Gabor Cup, sponsored by the Lightning Fleet, on Sunday, May 26th. Scoring is on a handicapped basis so any boat can be a winner The Gabor Cup Regatta will coincide with regular racing and will commence at 1:00 PM with registration at 12:00 PM followed by a Skippers’ meeting at 12:30PM.

Remember, the Sailing School program, which will involve Basic, Advances and Adult instruction starts on June 24th and ends on August 1st. Classes will be held three days a week, on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.
