November 2002 Papoose Article

November is always a bitter-sweet month for our club. It’s the beginning of our hiatus from racing but also a time for celebration (our annual awards brunch). Our last racing day for our Fall season was October 13, 2002 and the weekends that preceded did not always bring with them the best sailing conditions. Nonetheless, we had a active sailing season with some new faces joining us on the race course.

On Sunday, October 27, 2002 our Annual Meeting was held in the East Lounge of the Lake Mohawk Country Club. Officers for the year 2003 were elected. The results of our Fall series were not available at the time that this article went to publisher and will therefore be reported in next month’s Papoose.

Members will be interested in knowing that we can now purchase articles (shirts, hats, jackets and other gear) from Lands’ End bearing our Lake Mohawk Yacht Club logo. The logo (an embroidered patch with our burgee on a field of sky blue surrounded by our club name) can be added to items for an additional $8.10. We must submit minimum orders of 6 of any item. This is Lands’ End quality! Contact Don Okner at 729-5794 to place orders.

Please remember, our Annual Awards Brunch, Nov. 17th at 1200 Noon in the Papoose Room of the LMCC. This is a great family event. Plan to attend!
