Adult Sailing Lessons

2022 Program details...FYI

Adult Sailing lessons will be offered on Saturdays during July and August.

Two and a half hour classes are available mornings 9:30 am – noon, or afternoons 1:30 pm - 4:00 pm. The cost is $30.00 per class or $70.00 for a package of three classes (adults should be proficient Sunfish sailors after 3 lessons).

Private lessons are also available at $50.00 per session.

Private or group lessons available weekdays beginning the week of July 27 – August 14

The initial class includes a book on learning to sail, sailing terms, rigging and unrigging a Sunfish (LMYC owns eight Sunfish), and sailing including docking a Sunfish. The second and third lesson involve rigging a Sunfish and sailing the Sunfish.

We ask that you bring a life jacket; shoes that you don’t mind getting wet (water shoes or old tennis shoes – no flip-flops); a towel and a dry change of clothes. One of the topics covered is righting a capsized Sunfish.
