Junior Sailing Program

Dear LMCC friends and neighbors,
We are very disappointed to report that the Lake Mohawk Yacht Club has been unable to secure a
certified sailing instructor for this summer and cannot offer a formal Junior Sailing Program this year.
The U. S. Sailing Association certification requires instructors to be 18+ years of age, complete a
thorough training course on the water and have a powerboat driver license. We have some prior
students interested in becoming instructors and are hopeful for next year.
As an alternative for this year, the Lake Hopatcong Yacht Club’s summer youth program
https://saillakeh.com offers courses to the general public that some of our members have taken in the
past. The Morris County Sailing School also offers classes to adults and juniors on Budd Lake:

We hope that LMCC members who have some sailing experience will consider joining our Club where
you can continue to learn independently by sailing our Club-owned boats on Lake Mohawk. More info is

The LMYC Junior Sailing Program 2022 will start accepting applications from LMCC members (ONLY) immediately.
We are excited to offer 3 levels of sailing instruction for all Lake Mohawk Country Club members, as we have for the past 25+ years.
We can’t wait to see our sailors on the water and honing their skills.

3 Class Levels
LMYC JUNIOR SAILING PROGRAM (ages 10 and up):
Dates: July 5 – August 5, 2022
Sailing Level 1: Beginning Sailing (Sunfish)
Mon, Tue & Thur 9:30 am – 12:15 pm
- or-
Mon, Tue & Thur 1:15 pm – 4:00 pm
Sailing Level 2: Returning Students (Sunfish & Snipe)
Wed. & Fri. 9:30 am – 12:15 pm
Sailing Level 3/3+, Advanced Sailing:
Wed. & Fri. 1:15 pm – 4:00 pm
Cost: Level 1 - $375, Levels 2 or 3 - $250
Ask us about Yacht Club membership, we'd be happy to have your family on board!
Our Junior Sailing Program is available to Lake Mohawk Country Club (LMCC) members only! All Classes - Ages: 10 & above.
