It goes without saying that we live in uncertain times. Moreover, given executive Order 136 that the Governor signed on May 2, 2020, we cannot predict what will happen with our 2020 events. However, the Lake Mohawk Yacht Club continues to remain optimistic and looks forward to better times and sailing as soon as the law permits us to resume our activities.

In the hope that restrictions will ease, we continue to offer our ever popular Junior Sailing School which is open to children of all members of the Lake Mohawk Country Club. We will have trained, US Sailing certified instructors teaching the classes. Classes are open to LMCC members and will run from June 22, 2020 to July 24, 2020. There will be three levels of instruction. Students must be age 10 and above. Space is limited. Here are the details:

Dates: June 22, 2020 to July 24, 2020*

· Sailing Level 1:

o Monday, Tuesday Thursday

o A.M. Class: 9:30 am – 12:15 pm, or

o P.M. Class: 1:15 pm – 4:00 pm

· Sailing Level 2:

o Wed & Fri

o 9:30 am – 12:15 pm

· Sailing Level 3/3+ (Snipe Sailing):

o Wed & Fri

o 1:15 pm – 4:00 pm

· Students age 10 and above

· Cost:

o Level 1 - $375;

o Level 2 or 3 - $250

*No classes on July 3, 2020

Also, assuming that we are legally permitted to resume our racing activities, the Gabor Cup Regatta will take place on June 7, 2020. The event is open to all LMCC members with a sailboat of any kind. If you have never raced and are thinking of joining our club, this is a great time to give it a try. Remember, the LMYC is open to any LMCC members who are interested in sailing.
