"If the child is not learning the way you are teaching,

then you must teach in the way the child learns."

- Rita Dunn

The response to our appeal for joining our Computer SIG is truly gratifying and in the days to come we hope more and more would join our professional network. In this issue we have articles which deal with the improvement of the ESL teaching - learning process by utilizing the available technological resources in this digital era. Digital technology is giving birth to more and more innovative and interactive second language classrooms throughout the world. English teachers are exposed to massive technological changes and they can now help children “learn to learn” instead of just ‘spoon feeding them.

Dr. S.K. Chitra Lakshmi, in her paper, introduces the mechanics of the production of audio files using free software to present listening tasks in the classroom. Beena Thomas gives an exciting concept, digital story telling in the English classroom to enhance the language skills. S.M Jyothirmayss states how English songs can be used as effective tools to teach/learn pronunciation, stress, rhythm, different accents, rhyme scheme, vocabulary, usage, sentence patterns, parts of speech, idiomatic expressions and phrasal verbs.

We hope our members would find their reading of this issue also highly rewarding. We welcome their comments.
