Editorial

New is the year, new are the hopes and the aspirations, new is the resolution, new are the spirits and the editorial board of our journal wish our readers a promising and fulfilling New Year 2013.

This issue of our journal has seven papers and I am happy about the overwhelming response from teachers of English from various places. Dr.Revathi Viswanathan in her paper states about the innovative ways of designing materials that paves the way for teacher development. Mrs.Vinothini Silvia in her paper tells about the applications of iPad in English language teaching as a valuable tool than the personal computer in the classroom. Prof Dhanappa M Metri in his paper shares his creative use of internet to make his learners pursue the study of English poetry with passion. Dr. Madhavi Janagani focuses on the resources which can assist our teaching of grammar while providing a relaxed atmosphere. Dr.Shaju in his study attempts to investigate EFL teachers’ role in integrating new models of technology in learning in their pedagogical practices while confronting the classroom of millennium learners. Dr. Smriti Singh tells about the feasibility of language labs in a country like India. Mrs. C.Sofia Selvarani and Mrs. S. Kulasekara Vadivoo in their paper say that technology can help the English language classroom for active learning and critical thinking.
