Twenty first century is known as ‘knowledge Age’ that has witnessed phenomenal explosion of knowledge and ICT applications. Technology has become a key word in everyday concepts and applications. Even at the level of pre-school learning, technology is applied and the depending of one person to another person is fast diminishing. Technology is part of our everyday professional practice. Teachers are to prepare students for their future in the workplace and society. It is sure that we won’t regret if we use some of the fantastic applications of technology in our educational setting and I am happy that this issue of our journal consists of five papers related to the use of technology in English classroom.

The first write up Enhancing Writing Skills through Web 2.0 Technologies describes a case study of blended writing sessions using different applications of Web 2.0 technologies

and their significant role in enhancing the writing skills of the learners. The second presentation is Best Practices in Using Video Technology to Promote Second Language Acquisition that highlights the role of video in the process of improving student pronunciation and presentation skills. The third paper is on Multimedia Language Labs: A Platform to Shape Professionals that presents the reasons why English language teaching should be positioned as a priority to facilitate learning and secure international opportunities. The fourth write up is Httrack Software for Self-Access Language Learning which describes the use of HTTrack Software for Self-Access Language Learning. The final paper is Learning English in the Age of Facebook states the negative effects of using social networking sites such as Facebook outweigh the positive ones.
