Audacity® is free, open source software for recording and editing sounds. It is available for Mac OS X, Microsoft Windows, GNU/Linux, and other operating systems.
AUP - When you save a file with Audacity -
it creates a FOLDER
with Sub-FOLDERS
containing the necessary files
to run and edit in Audacity
WAV - WAV files can easily be played on Windows Computers - I have used them to explain instructions, to say Goodmorning when you turn your computer on, etc.
