Computer_Apps_Assign01-14.doc on Page 5 has images of the Menu Bars of the Software for Word Processing.
As with Cars - they all have steering wheels, directional's, windshield wipers, safety flashers, etc. but some makes & models will put them in different places - If you are used to a Toyota, and have to drive a friends Dodge ... things will be in different spots. The same is true for Computer Software - it takes a minute to get your bearings.
If you go to a CCV Computer room - the software is Microsoft Office2016
If you want to install Office 2016 on your personal computer page 4 has instruction how to download it.
If you want to use Office 365 (which you can access from a Phone, Tablet or Computer) you must be logged into the CCV Portal: http://ccv.edu > Click Portal from the top menu > and Login using your CCV login & password.
IF you have problems with ANYTHING ... please call me .... I can troubleshoot anything, we can work together to solve the issue and get you productive. JilMac 802-254-8628
We will be using the Microsoft Web Site https://support.office.com/en-us/article/Office-training-and-tutorials-b8f02f81-ec85-4493-a39b-4c48e6bc4bfb
NOTE: 2016 tutorials are slowly getting more robust, there may be times when you need to watch a 2013 video - because they are very good
However, you should use the VERSION of the software that you have access to. For homework assignments, I don't care what version of Office products you use. Many companies will be on older versions - be aware there are different versions and different tutorials.

NOTE: Fall 2014 the CCV colleges will be moving to MicroSoft Office 2013 and have Windows 7 for the Operating Systems
Fall 2014 Micro Apps instructors—
For the coming academic year, CCV will be licensing the Microsoft IT Academy (ITA) for all twelve academic centers. As you may know, ITA is a huge repository of self-paced tutorial courses, instructor materials, and complete e-textbooks on many Microsoft applications, including all components of the Office suite. Please see the attached two-page overview of ITA for more information.
With the change to Office 2013 for the fall 2014 semester, the CCV Technology Committee is glad to provide these extensive resources to our CIS faculty and their students. Many of you have already made the switch away from expensive print textbooks for Micro Apps, and the ITA resources present an opportunity for other instructors to make this welcome move or augment their existing resources. An additional ITA benefit: for those students who wish to expand their learning in your courses by using the ITA tutorial and reference materials, we will be offering the opportunity to sit for the exams leading to Microsoft Office Specialist certification, which will be available at our Rutland academic center.
With the May 6 textbook ordering deadline for the fall semester approaching rapidly, we want to provide information about ITA to help you decide if you want to use its resources in lieu of a textbook. To do so, we have developed a Moodle course that includes those materials most relevant to instructors and students in Micro Apps, including course activities, e-textbooks, and resources that address course objectives not related to word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation applications. The course is built around the course Essential Objectives, so you can integrate the materials into your section of Micro Apps as you see fit.
We hope that the demonstration Micro Apps Moodle course will help you plan for teaching with Office 2013 this fall and provide a way to avoid adoption of an expensive print textbook. The course is still in development, and we would welcome your suggestions for additions that will make it a rich resource for teaching Micro Apps.
Many of you have already been added to the course as Teachers. Just follow this link: https://learn.vsc.edu/course/view.php?id=15852. Log in with your regular portal login. You should be taken directly to the course but if not look in the Navigation block on the left for My courses and find the course, CCV-ITAcademy2013Faculty. If you don’t see the course name there, email me, and I’ll put you in.
We know you’ll have questions about ITA, the Moodle course, and using these resources with your Micro Apps course this fall. The use of ITA in conjunction with your course is entirely optional, but we hope you’ll consider the possibility and let us know if you have questions.
