Dr. Tom Cheesman's VVV (Version Variation Visualization) tool is attracting quite some attention worldwide.Wu Jinshan a PhD student at Beijing Foreign Studies University working on English translations of Chinese classics and Guillaume Coatalen, Senior Lecturer in early modern English literature, University of Cergy-Pontoise have contacted Tom hoping VVV might help them in their research. Coatalen's project looks quite impressive. His aim is to build a database of translations of Petrarch's Canzoniere in European vernacular languages, including German, from the earliest to now. More about his project and database HERE.

At the moment, VVV is still in prototype stage but in August Tom obtained a small grant to create a temporary post for a developer (as Research Assistant) to try to make VVV work as it should. Swansea University will be advertising that RA soon. If you know anyone with advanced coding skills and an interest in our kind of work, please ask them to get in touch with us. VVV should be more user-friendly by mid-2017.
