Seven Historic English Haggadot Uploaded to Sefaria Site

Seven historic English translated Haggadot, digitized by me, have been uploaded to the Sefaria site. It is now possible to choose one of these translations and compare them with the Hebrew source text. Thank you Sefaria for the cooperation. You can read more about each and every one of these Haggadot on their BLOG.

The uploaded Haggadot are:

1. The first ever Haggadah with English translation (Alexander, 1787)

2. The first English Haggadah printed in the United States (David Levi, 1837)

3. The first English Haggadah printed in a newspaper (Times of London 1840)

4. The first of the Sfaradim to translate a Haggadah into English (Mendes, 1862)

5. The first English Haggadah to be printed in Chicago (Liberman, 1879) - with recipe to make Pesach beer.

6. The first English bowdlerized Haggadah (Green, 1897)

7. The first English Haggadah printed by a blind printer (Luncz, 1901)
