Eran Hadas

Last week I met the poet/ coder Eran Hadas at his office in Bnei Berak. Eran's interests lie on the crossroad between language/ computers/ poetry and as such might be able to help me with my research. We talked about different coding problems, especially the problem of auto-tagging texts and I showed his one of my latest projects which is the comparison of poetic translations for the 8-line mini-poem at the end of the Haggadah "Hasal Siddur Pesach" (more about this in a future blog under the "case studies" tab).
Eran told me he would look into possibilities of auto-tagging after I send him an example of a manually tagged text and examples of tags I use (am busy preparing this but it takes time). He also promised to look at the poetic translations of Hasal Siddur Pesach from the viewpoint of a poet. We decided to stay in contact and he seems willing to help out if he can.
One of Eran's latest books is called קוד "Code" which he gave to me . It is in Hebrew and explores the Haiku's that can be found in the Torah. The book gives a complete list of all Haiku's Hadas found using a code written especially for this purpose by him. He also explains the difficulties he encountered while creating this code and how he overcame these.
