Mareike Kaemmerer

Mareike is a PhD student at UCLouvain and works for NEO-PRISM-C, a European Training Network (ETN) project which is part of the Marie Skodowska-Curie Innovative Training Network (ITN) action.

Mareike graduated with a Master's degree in Developmental Psychology from Aix-Marseille University (France). She has worked as a Research Assistant for the French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS, Marseille) and the Lab for Cognitive and Affective Sciences (SCALab) at the University of Lille (France). Mareike's research focus has been on affect dynamics and the use of emotion regulation strategies in different interventions for adults and children (e.g., mindfulness, physical activities, music-therapy), using experience-sampling methods. In this context, she has also investigated the influence of individual differences on emotional variability.

At UCLouvain, Mareike is investigating the role of emotional (e.g.,  emotion regulation, coping) and cognitive processes (e.g., executive functions) in psychological interventions for children with chronic health conditions, in a transdiagnostic approach. She also works on the collaborative development (e.g., between researchers, health care professionals and families) and implementation of evidence-based interventions to improve those processes in order to enhance children's psychological and physical health. As part of the Neo-PRISM-C project whose aim is the study of neurodevelopmental disorders, Mareike collaborates with other international Early Stage Researchers (ESRs) on related subjects.
