Nana Manwanina Kiumba

Nana's rearche is part of a projet to create conditions that will make the edible insect sector more efficient ans sustainable in order to secure supplies for rural communities and offer new marketing opportunities in urban centers. The aim is to identify "the individual and collective factors influencing consumer attitudes and behaviour towards edible insects in the western part of the Democratic Republic of Congo". It uses the theory of planned behaviour as a theoretical model to predict the behaviour of the target population. It will analyse the potential factors related to the individual and the group that predicts the consumption of edible insects, the barriers and motivations related to insect consumption, the least rejected types of insects, the most accepted forms and preparations and the information that can increase their consumption by them.
