President (Toastmasters definition)

Achieving Success as Club President

This role is about leadership, meeting organization and member management. Our goal is to support members in achieving their goals. With this in mind, the President focuses on the member experience. Serving as President will offer one the opportunity to lead in a volunteer organization. This is similar to the role one plays as a lead in the workplace, on a team or community group, where the ability to influence others is key. The President should have a vision for the club and help it achieve this goal.

Some HTM-specific tasks are:

  • Receive email from our from our club email account and respond accordingly.

  • Be familiar with our technology resources.

  • Organize regular Officer Meetings.

  • Ensure that Officer roles and responsibilities are being filled.

  • Work toward Distinguished Club status each year.

  • Help fill Officer roles each year.
