Children's Church

Our Children's Director, Cathy McCloskey has a great heart for

this ministry- She truly loves kids, and desires to see them grow spiritually, emotionally, mentally and physically! She and her assistants work very hard to provide a quality program for our kids. They would love to have the opportunity to invest in and bless your children!

Children's Church is a ministry for children from 2nd-6th grades on Sunday mornings, and Sunday and Wednesday evenings for K-6th grades. It is held upstairs in the Fellowship Hall. On Sunday mornings, all children remain in the sanctuary with their families for the first part of morning worship time. During the service, the worship leader will dismiss the children to go to Children's Church. At this time, you may accompany your child to the Fellowship Hall, or simply allow them to go with the leader-escorts. As always, your child is welcome to remain with you in the sanctuary if you prefer. Sunday and Wednesday evenings, children may go directly to the Fellowship Hall.

Children's Church is a fun and interactive time of learning and ministry. Children who have graduated from the Children's Church ministry are given the opportunity to work in this ministry as helpers. This gives the younger children role models and the older ones experience in ministering to others.

In all we teach, we want to lift up the name of Jesus, to whom all glory belongs!

Psalms 96:4 For the Lord is great, and greatly to be praised.

Matthew 19:14 Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven”.

Sunday 11:15-12:00 A.M. 2nd-6th grade

Sunday mornings open with prayer and worship time. The lessons are always bible based, and children take part in worship, scripture reading and in the lesson itself. We frequently use visuals and props to encourage the children to be a part of the lessons, as much as they are comfortable to be a part.

We have a monthly reward day, where the children are rewarded with small prizes for points earned for such things as attendance, bringing a Bible, bringing a friend and participation and extra activities.

In our missionary lessons, we use various things-sometimes different foods, visuals and props-to help the children understand different cultures.

Some lessons prepare the children to minister in outreach projects, such as visiting a nursing home. When the children visit a nursing home, they minister in many ways-with prayer, scripture, skits, singing and the giving of homemade cards and crafts. These lessons also prepare the children to take part in the missionary day of activities and parade at Canaan Acres Christian Camp, as well as other outreach projects.

We do many other things, as well, such as having prayer walks, Christmas plays,

and times of singing to the church congregation.

Sunday 6-7 P.M. K-6th grade

Sunday evening lessons are bible based also, involving the children with active, hands-on crafts, games, and props [sometimes using live props]. We have a time of worship and prayer every Sunday evening, and a monthly indoors/outdoors game night.

Wednesday 7-8 P.M. K-6th grade

On Wednesday nights, children in grades K-6th meet for midweek worship and Bible lesson.

Seasonal activities include a Christmas/ Birthday Party for Jesus,

a Valentine Party, and Harvest Party.

A monthly calendar of events is available.
