Camp
Our church campground, Canaan Acres, is located on 72 acres in Stark county, near Akron and Canton.
Church Camp is available for kids age 7-10 at Middler Kids' Camp, kids age 10-13 at Preteen Kids' Camp, for teens at Preteen Camp and for whole families at Family Camp. Other events are scheduled throughout the year, such as Bible Quizzing meets, retreats for men and women, and conferences, seminars and banquets for the district.
Kids' Camp is a growing time! Typically held in July, kids enjoy a week of fun and games, swimming and hiking, teaching and mentorship with Middler Kids' Camp. Preeteen Camp is held the same week, on the other side of the camp. Individual and joint activities are held for the separate groups. These activities give kids an opportunity to build friendships and bonds with counselors and kids from other churches, as well as a chance to focus on their own spiritual commitment as individuals.
Teen Camp is held over a long weekend, to accommodate the growing responsibilities teens have with balancing jobs and other activities. In recent years the teen camp has been held at Camp Cotubic in Bellefontaine, Ohio. Teen camp is held with several other participating Nazarene churches, usually in July.
Family Camp is held in June at Canaan Acres. During family camp, children's activities (kid's church, crafts, swimming, etc) throughout the day, while activities geared toward adults are also available. On Saturday, a very full day is planned, including a pinewood derby, missionary day activities, and parade.
