The Pastorium - 1910

A charming vernacular cottage (late Victorian) one story frame house with high ceilings, weatherboard exterior and shining gables. The corner lot allows for excellent viewing of two sides of the house. The front porch has turned posts and cut balusters. All of the exterior trim is original to the house. A member of the Polk family built the Pastorium in 1910. In 1913 the Missionary Baptist Church (now Bolivar First Baptist Church) purchased the house for $1650. It served as the church parsonage until 1948. Since that time it has become a private residence.
