Presbyterian Church - 1858

The Presbyterian congregation and the local Masonic Lodge joined forces to construct this facility, where the Masons would meet on the second floor while the Presbyterians held services on the main floor. The interior of the church remains largely in its original condition, including the Bible that still rests on the altar. The pews were replaced in the 1920's. The church's pipe organ was badly damaged when a wall collaapsed in the 1970's. Volunteers retrieved and numbered each piece as it lay on the ground and then stored the remnants until the organ could be restored.

A plaque on the real wall of the church commemorates Confederate war dead who were members of the congregation.

This facility is now the property

of the Bolivar Historical and Community Foundation.
