Graignamanagh junior footballers qualified for their first junior co football final since 1972 when they beat Ballyragget on a scoreline of 3-8 to 1-4.
Well done to our Junior Footballers who have reached the league final with an impressive win over St Patrick’s (Ballyraggett). A great team effort and some super passing saw Graig take control from early in the match scoring 2-2 within the first 15 minutes with the goals being scored by Ray Coady & Jim O Donnell.
St Patrick’s never looked to threaten scoring 3 points from play & 1 pointed free the half time the score stood at Graig 2-3 to St Patrick’s 0-4.
Graig got off to the better start in the 2nd half and were relentless in their quest. Both sides hit some wides and while Graig scored 1-2 it was 15 mins into the 2nd half before St Patrick’s registered their first score of the half. Other points flowed for Graig and not even a penalty in the dying minutes was enough to revive a tired St Patrick’s side.
The final score Graig 3-8 St Patricks 1-5.
