Stand Don't Sit

I traveled to Europe again in the summer of 2016. It was fun as always. However, my friends asked me repeatedly why I never sit down on the train. Public transportation is very efficient and common so most folks use it, even if they have a car. I had to use it daily to get around since I don't drive in Europe.

Well, the reason has to do with fashion. The style in Europe is for everyone to wear tight "skinny jeans". On most women, the results are quite appealing. On men? Not so much.

There is nothing worse than seeing some dudes junk all in your face from wearing skinny jeans. The view from the back is no better with those sagging pockets and underwear showing. I prefer not to have some guys moose knuckle right in my face so I stand.

There is also the issue of smell. A lot (not all of those guys) aren't into daily bathing. I don't know, maybe it's an American thing. What ever the case, I don't want to be at ground zero of some truly funky ass eruptions.

So when someone tells me that the seat next to them is free, I politely decline.
