Oklahoma Style Recycling

When I first moved into my house in September of 2015, I began participating in the OKC recycling program. The program was simple in that this bin (click here)  needed to be put out every Thursday when the trash bin was put out.

In the summer of 2018, the city started a new program. They even had much larger containers for recycling. See here. Instead of weekly, recycling would be picked up twice monthly. 

However, when I called to ask about what should be done with the old recycling bin I was told that no thought was given to them and I should throw it in the trash. Wait, you don't recycle recycling bins? 

So in the trash it went. See here. 

Only in Oklahoma.
