Westpark

WESTPARK

West Park was the last large suburb to merge with the City of Cleveland. There are four distinct sub-neighborhoods located here: Warren-Munn, Riverside, Jefferson, and Puritas-Bellaire-Longmead. West Park was originally part of Rockport Township and was named for Benjamin West who was an early settler. Lorain Avenue was the major thoroughfare and was a wooden plank toll road. In 1900, the county approved the formation of the Township of West Park. West Park was referred to as the "lost city", because of the unimproved roads covered by snow and the mud in the Spring.
